The EcoFlow DELTA Pro Ultra is a modular home backup system: a 7,200W split-phase inverter that sits on a 6,144Wh LiFePO4 battery. You can add more batteries and inverters later.

It’s big and heavy, and it isn’t cheap. Here’s what it can run, how it charges, and where testers found limits.

What 6kWh Will Run

Usable energy is lower than the label. We’ll assume about 5.5kWh reaches your loads. That’s our estimate.

Load Approx. Runtime (our estimates)
Full-size refrigerator (1–2kWh a day) 3–5 days
Essentials-only home (8–10kWh a day assumed) 13–16 hours
1,500W space heater About 3.5 hours
3-ton central air conditioner (about 3,500W) About 1.5 hours

Real runtime depends on what you call essential. For air conditioning, see our guide on running an air conditioner with a solar generator.

What Testers Found

The Solar Lab ran the unit hard. It measured about 98% efficiency and a 9,200W surge lasting roughly 10 seconds. The unit was essentially silent.

The weak spots were charging and surge loads. An AC charge took 4 hours 4 minutes, compared with about 3 hours 20 minutes advertised. It also couldn’t handle a car lift plus several shop tools, and it has no L14 pass-through.

The Gadgeteer’s review put the battery at about 116 lb and the inverter at about 70 lb, so plan on two people to move it.

EcoFlow DELTA Pro Ultra Review

EcoFlow DELTA Pro Ultra (6,144Wh, 7,200W)

The Ultra’s strength is flexibility. It outputs 120V and 240V directly, accepts solar and gas generators, and can grow from one battery to a large bank. With EcoFlow’s Smart Home Panel 2 it can back up a home automatically.

The catch is the cost of that growth. The starter kit alone is about $4,200, extra batteries are about $2,400 each, and solar input of 5.6kW is modest for a bank that large. Amazon shows 4.1 stars from 376 ratings, with mixed feedback on reliability and charging.

It’s also heavy: roughly 186 lb for a battery and inverter together, by our math from the listed weights. Plan the location before you order.

Pros Cons
7,200W with direct 240V output Heavy, at roughly 186 lb for one battery and inverter
Expandable to 90kWh Expansion batteries are expensive
Very quiet, with about 98% measured efficiency Struggled with a car lift and multiple tools
UL 1973 and UL 9540 certified, per the listing Solar input is modest for the capacity

Best for: Homeowners who want a modular 240V backup system and may add batteries over time.

Adding capacity later? The DELTA Pro Ultra Series 6144Wh Extra Battery plugs into the system.

Frequently Asked Questions

What comes in the starter kit?

One inverter and one 6,144Wh battery, plus an AC cable, per the Amazon listing. The Smart Home Panel and solar panels are separate unless bundled.

Can the DELTA Pro Ultra run a whole house?

Not on its own for long. One battery gives roughly 13–16 hours of essentials by our estimate. Add batteries and a Smart Home Panel for real whole-home backup, and get an electrician’s quote.

How fast does it charge?

The listing says about 2 hours. The Solar Lab measured just over 4 hours on AC, against about 3 hours 20 minutes advertised.

What is the difference between the Ultra and the Ultra X?

The Ultra is rated 7.2kW with 5.6kW of solar input. The newer Ultra X is rated 12kW with 10kW of solar input and its base kit lists for $7,999 on Amazon versus $4,199 for the Ultra.

Can it work with a gas generator?

Yes, EcoFlow lists gas generator input through its Smart Home Panel 2. The Solar Lab noted the unit has no L14 pass-through.

Final Verdict

The DELTA Pro Ultra is a quiet, efficient and expandable home backup system, best suited to buyers who want 240V power and plan to grow it. If you don’t need 7.2kW or modular expansion, the smaller DELTA Pro 3 may be the better buy.
