The EcoFlow RIVER 2 Pro is a 768Wh LiFePO4 power station with an 800W inverter and a very fast wall charge. At about 17 lb it’s one of the lighter units in the 700Wh class.

It’s an older model now, and newer EcoFlow units compete with it. Here’s what it can run, how it charges, and where it falls short.

What 768Wh Will Run

Usable energy is lower than the label because of inverter losses. Assuming roughly 85%, expect about 650Wh to reach your devices. That’s our estimate, not an EcoFlow figure.

Device Approx. Runtime (our estimates)
CPAP (about 40W) 15–18 hours
Laptop (about 60W) About 10 hours
Full-size refrigerator (about 1–2kWh a day) 8–15 hours
800W kettle or microwave About 45 minutes
1,500W space heater (X-Boost) About 25 minutes

X-Boost lets the unit run some 1,600W heating appliances at reduced power. It doesn’t work for everything, and one hands-on reviewer saw it shut down when a heater drew 1,650W.

Charging and Solar

The wall charge is the headline. EcoFlow says 70 minutes, and a reviewer measured 72 minutes from empty in a hands-on test. Treat that as one reviewer’s result, not a lab figure.

Solar tops out at 220W. Our estimate: 220W × 5 sun hours × 65–80% gives about 700–880Wh a day, so one clear day of sun can refill it. EcoFlow’s solar panels are the easiest match.

A solar cable adapter may be extra if you use a non-EcoFlow panel. Check the connector before you order.

EcoFlow RIVER 2 Pro Review

EcoFlow RIVER 2 Pro (768Wh)

The RIVER 2 Pro is a good match for camping, van trips, CPAP use and power outages. Four AC outlets and 11 ports in total mean you can run several devices at once. The 70-minute recharge is quick enough to top up between errands.

The catch is age and value. EcoFlow’s newer DELTA 3 Classic lists 1,024Wh and 1,800W for $499 at the time of writing, only $60 more. Unless you want the RIVER 2 Pro’s lighter weight, the larger unit is the better deal.

Amazon shows 4.5 stars from over 1,800 ratings, shared with the solar bundle. The review summary is mixed on battery life and power output, with some buyers reporting very short runtimes. Check your devices’ wattage against the 800W limit before you buy.

Pros Cons
70-minute AC recharge Not expandable
Light for 768Wh, at about 17 lb 800W limit rules out many appliances
LFP battery rated for 3,000+ cycles Fans are audible under heavy load
4 AC outlets and 11 ports total Newer models offer more capacity for similar money

Best for: Camping, road trips, CPAP and short outages, when you want a light unit that recharges quickly.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can the RIVER 2 Pro power?

Devices up to 800W, such as laptops, CPAPs, fans, small fridges and TVs. X-Boost handles some heaters up to 1,600W.

How long does it take to charge?

About 70 minutes from a wall outlet, per EcoFlow. With a 220W panel, plan on a few hours of strong sun.

Is the RIVER 2 Pro the same as the RIVER 2 Max?

No. The Pro has a 768Wh battery and 800W output. The RIVER 2 Max is a different model, so see our RIVER 2 Max review for its specs.

Can it work as a UPS?

It has an EPS backup mode, and reviewers cite a switchover under 30ms. That may be too slow for sensitive electronics, so it isn’t a true UPS.

How many solar panels can I connect?

One, up to 220W. For help sizing, see our guide on how big of a portable power station you need.

Final Verdict

The EcoFlow RIVER 2 Pro is a light, fast-charging 768Wh unit that suits camping, CPAP and short outages. Compare it with the 1,024Wh DELTA 3 Classic before you buy, because that model costs only slightly more and adds capacity and output.
